On Saturday we had a Surprise Birthday party for Grandpa Sam who will turn 60 on the 16th. We managed to keep it a secret from him and boy was he surprised! It was a fun time!! Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Grandma Doris celebrated her birthday on Friday with pizza, cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday Grandma!!

Eryn went to a birthday party on Friday night as well.... so the week was full of birthdays!!

I had a chance to snap some pics of the kids before the party yesterday...

Nolan Loves Dora

For those of you who know Nolan best, you know he absolutely loves Dora. Well, this week he even started counting in Spanish! The joke at Lana's is that he has 2 years before preschool and I wonder what Lana will teach him next!! He watches Eryn's Dora movies every night, and Randy teases him that he has a thing for Latino women:)

With the colder weather and it getting dark earlier, he is bummed that he can't play with Isaiah after school. He really likes to play with him and Andrew.... thank goodness for our small town and big backyards!!!

Eryn looses another tooth!

Well, this one came a little unexpected, but Eryn lost another tooth on Wednesday thanks to Dr. Peter:) I took her in cuz she lost a filling (for the second time) and we were planning on a stainless steel crown. Well, once he really got a look at it, it was beginning to get infected, so it got pulled. The tooth fairy visited last night, and Eryn was proud to show all her friends that she lost yet another tooth! Now we just need to go back and get her spacer fitted in 2 weeks so that her teeth come in correctly next to where that tooth was.

Pet Fish

It's official... our family has our first pets! Today we went to Walmart and bought two fish, and the kids couldn't be happier! They have named them Hannah (Montana) and Spiderman:) Eryn has been asking for a puppy for quite some time, so we needed to start slow with the pets so she can learn to care for them. It will be awhile before we get a puppy.... but in the meantime the kids can learn to take care of their fish.

Eryn had her first field trip of the year this week to Peake's apple orchard in Waukon. She had a great time. Her new tooth is starting to come in.... and she lost another filling, so I will need to call the dentist tomorrow to see what he has to say. She's lost the same filling twice now, so I am not sure what will happen from here. She also woke up with a cough and swollen tonsils this morning, but it doesn't seem to bother her.... hopefully it's not a case of the strep starting!

Both kids got their first round of flu shots for the first time this week. Boy that was NOT fun! Nolan did better than Eryn did; the bad news is that they have to go back for a second round since this is the first time they have had the shots. Hopefully it goes better this next time!

Yesterday we went to Rendevous in Fort Atkinson and enjoyed root beer and fry bread. Then we headed for my aunt and uncles for my cousin Ann's bridal shower. It was so good to see everyone and visit with them!! I am really looking forward to the Carolan Christmas in a few months:)

Eryn Lost her First Tooth:)

Our little girl is growing up!! She has had a loose tooth for a couple of weeks now, and I have been trying to get her to let me pull it out. She got up enough courage tonight after supper and out it came! She was so happy and excited! Thanks to Mrs. Styve for making up the pillow for the tooth to go in until the Tooth Fairy arrives:)

The Park

Today was so nice out we decided to go to the park for a little "picnic." Well, Nolan chose not to take a nap again today so he was not in a very good mood; our stay didn't last long, but I managed to get some good pics of the kids!

"Hannah Montana"

Watch out Spillville, Hannah Montana is in town! Eryn's Halloween costume arrived on Friday and she was sooooo excited to try it on. It fits great, and even comes with a wig. Can't wait for Halloween!
