Bye, Bye Cows!
This morning, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Carolan's to watch some of the fat cattle go to market. The kids really enjoy seeing Grandpa and their Great Uncles slop around in the manure to get these cows in the semi trailer. They also got to go to town to see them be weighed before they head out to Colorado. Eryn kept telling them that she was going to eat them as steak! I guess it doesn't bother her a bit.... She asked why the remaining cows looked crabby; I thought it was cute:) We enjoyed lunch with Grandma and Grandpa before heading home for naps. Eryn was not feeling well yesterday, and still isn't 100% today. NOlan had the flu on Thursday so it's going around again.... hopefully MOm and Dad don't catch it! The kids had a good time with Aunt Jodi yesterday. THanks Jo!

It's been another busy week! With Easter, the kids were busy making Easter eggs on three different occasions. On Friday night we took supper out to Randy in the field and had a picnic before the kids got a ride in the tractor. They both really enjoyed it! On Saturday we were up early to head to Cindy and Jeremy's. The girls had a day out with shopping and manicures, while Jeremy (the brave soul) took all four kids to the park. He must have worn them out; when we got back they were all sleeping! We headed home and went to church. It was a busy day!
Today the kids woke up to see that the Easter bunny had visited. I think they have both had more than enough chocolate today~ especially after all of the treats from grandparents and aunts and uncles! We had a great dinner with Sabelka's at noon, and the kids helped grandpa put the fish out in the pond. Then we headed to Shirley and Roxy's to visit with my family. The weekend went by way too fast:) Here are some random pictures of the kids...

Potty Training Milestone!
Even though the weather wasn't the greatest this weekend, we managed to enjoy some time together cooped up in the house. Both kids were not feeling the greatest, but Nolan managed to reach a milestone with his potty training:) I was very happy for him (and now that I won't have to buy pull ups anymore!)
Yesterday I went to an engagement luncheon for my cousin Mike's fiancee Beth. It was nice to meet her and to catch up with some of my cousins. We will be seeing alot of each other in the next couple years. With three weddings and a baby this year, and a wedding and a wedding reception planned for next year, it will be a busy (and fun!) time!
The kids had fun at Grandma and Grandpa Sabelka's with Landon making Easter Eggs. Sounds like they will get their fill with Easter Egg making this week at Lana's and at our house. The funny thing is the kids were so excited to eat their eggs for breakfast this morning, and once I had them peeled they wanted nothing to do with them!

(Another) Birthday Party

Saturday was a busy day at the Sabelka house. I was up at 4:30 to bake for the Easter bake sale at Church. This afternoon, Eryn had 4 friends over for her first "girl party." All of the girls had fun, and Nolan even tried to run along with them. Even today he keeps asking "Where are the girls?" It was pretty funny, as you can see by the pictures. We ended the day by going to church, then Grandma and Grandpa Sabelka stopped by to visit.
Eryn had parent teacher conferences this week, and things are going well at school. She will be in kindergarten next year! I can't believe how the time has passed so quickly!!

Busy weekend!

We had a busy couple of days this last weekend. On Saturday we went to Prairie to stay at the Country Inn with some friends. They have a big pool/waterslide so the kids were really excited! We bought them some goggles and balls to play with in the water. The room we stayed in had bunk beds and the kids really enjoyed them-- especially the top bunk! Nolan was very independent in crawling up and down, and wanted no help from Mom at all!!
On Sunday we went to LaPorte to celebrate Keegan's 5th Birthday. It was such a nice day some of us spent some time outside. The kids were exhausted by Sunday night (and so was I) but it was a great weekend!

Waiting for Spring...
The past couple of weeks have been hectic at our house. Both kids had a virus that lasted about 10 days. I was happy to see them feeling better! Well, then Thursday, Eryn came down with a high fever again!! I got her into the Dr. on Friday afternoon, and she has an ear infection. It has been one thing after another for these kids this winter, so it was nice to finally see some spring weather!
The next couple of weeks will also be busy for us, as we have a couple of birthdays in the family. Eryn turns 5 on the 23rd, and her cousin also turns 5 on the 11th.
Eryn is participating in a reading program at school, so we are keeping track of the minutes we read each day. She gets to go to Kindergarten this Friday, so I am excited for her to see some new people and learn more about what she will be doing this fall!
The bridge in town will be closed as of MOnday, so Nolan will have plenty to watch from Lana's house. He has already been keeping a close eye on the prep work being done!
