Last night when we got home from Parent teacher conferences (which BTW went really well!) Eryn was enjoying a Toosie Roll (from Grandma Sabelka) when she came to me and said "mom, my tooth fell out!" It was funny, cuz I was asking her for days to pull that tooth (we can see the permanent tooth coming through).... so thanks Grandma for the candy to finally get that tooth out! Another successful visit from the tooth fairy last night!!!
The kids are FINALLY feeling better.... maybe the rest of this week will be "normal??" I sure hope so!!

The Flu
Both kids got hit pretty hard with the flu this week, and just when I think things are starting to get better, both kids are down and out with low grade fevers again tonight!! Nolan started running a temp on Sunday afternoon, and it was late morning on Wednesday before it finally broke! After I got back to work from taking him to the doctor, I had a call that Eryn was sick.... so needless to say Randy and I spent a lot of quality time with the kids this week. Most of our plans for the weekend have been cancelled due to all the sickness going around. I am looking forward to some R and R time tomorrow, so Eryn can meet up with her Luther PALS for the first time on Sunday.
This week was also finals week for school... so I am glad to have a couple of days break from class as well, before the next one begins on Monday.
With the recent rain, Randy STILL hasn't gotten in the field.... a little frustrating!!

We will miss you Uncle John...

Sadly, on Thursday my uncle John passed away unexpectedly.... he was 44 years old and such a great person! I will forever have memories of when I was growing up, staying at Grandma's and what a hard worker he was keeping up with Grandpa and Uncle Joe doing the chores..... his laugh (especially when watching the Three Stooges) and him sipping at everyone's pop and coffee (he sure liked his Pepsi, Mt. Dew and coffee). He was also a great athlete in the Special Olympics, and we were all so proud of him!!! He will be sadly missed!!!

Busy week!
This past week I traveled to Austin Texas for a convention for work. It was nice and warm there, so I am disappointed I didn't bring some of that back with me:) I missed the kids and Randy so it was good to get into the house last night, finally!!
Randy and the kids enjoyed going to the South Winn football game on Friday night and braved the cold. On Saturday the kids spent some time with Landon and Aunt Jo. Now it's time to gear up for another busy week!
Randy is out bow hunting for the first time this year, I hope he gets a big one!
The kids have their second round of Flu shots on Thursday.... still trying to think of the perfect bribe to get them into the clinic!

Farewell Fish....
Well, the fish lasted two weeks or so..... we came home this afternoon to find them floating in the bowl..... Eryn was a little upset, but we had the "funeral" for them in the bathroom and away they went..... now Eryn thinks it is time for a puppy!! Nolan kept right on watching tv the entire time and doesn't realize that the fish bowl isn't there anymore.... probably better that way!
Grandpa's Birthday Party!

On Saturday we had a Surprise Birthday party for Grandpa Sam who will turn 60 on the 16th. We managed to keep it a secret from him and boy was he surprised! It was a fun time!! Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Grandma Doris celebrated her birthday on Friday with pizza, cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday Grandma!!
Eryn went to a birthday party on Friday night as well.... so the week was full of birthdays!!
I had a chance to snap some pics of the kids before the party yesterday...

Nolan Loves Dora
For those of you who know Nolan best, you know he absolutely loves Dora. Well, this week he even started counting in Spanish! The joke at Lana's is that he has 2 years before preschool and I wonder what Lana will teach him next!! He watches Eryn's Dora movies every night, and Randy teases him that he has a thing for Latino women:)
With the colder weather and it getting dark earlier, he is bummed that he can't play with Isaiah after school. He really likes to play with him and Andrew.... thank goodness for our small town and big backyards!!!

Eryn looses another tooth!
Well, this one came a little unexpected, but Eryn lost another tooth on Wednesday thanks to Dr. Peter:) I took her in cuz she lost a filling (for the second time) and we were planning on a stainless steel crown. Well, once he really got a look at it, it was beginning to get infected, so it got pulled. The tooth fairy visited last night, and Eryn was proud to show all her friends that she lost yet another tooth! Now we just need to go back and get her spacer fitted in 2 weeks so that her teeth come in correctly next to where that tooth was.
