Trip to Omaha

Bright and early Saturday morning, we headed for Omaha. The kids did really well, even though they didn't sleep a whole lot. THank goodness for portable DVD Players! We arrived in Omaha about 10:30 and visited my uncle Terry at his restaurant. After a great lunch, we slathered on the sunscreen and headed to the Zoo! The kids really enjoyed seeing all of the animals. It was really warm, but the kids (and us adults) had a really great time. Then it was to the hotel and the kids were ready to swim. It was a late night, but we all had fun:)

On Sunday we swam again before getting ready to attend my cousin Elyn's high school graduation party. It was a paradise theme, so there were plenty of accessories for the kids to play with. We even brushed up on our dance moves..... Uncle Chris will be so surprised to see how well those kids can dance! Then we were back to the hotel to visit with family. The kids enjoyed jumping on the bed with Aunt Leann and making "tents" out of the bed sheets:)

We headed home late this morning despite the kids wanting to stay in Omaha. Now for some much needed rest before Eryn completes her last two days of school!

Cedar Rapids Visit

On Friday afternoon, Eryn and I made the trip to Cedar Rapids/Marion area to stay with my friend Aimee and her family. We had a nice dinner out and then got up very early Saturday to participate in the Marion 5 K. It was freezing cold, but a good time! Then we went to some garage sales (got some great bargains!) and then Eryn and I did a little shopping before returning home. It was nice to spend some time with Aimee (and Andy and Aidan too:) Nolan and Daddy stayed back home and had some male bonding time!

Phrase of the week...

Over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that Nolan has a "Saying." Last week it was "Oh, man." This week it's "Oh my gosh." He tends to say it at any time, for any reason! I wonder what this week's will be...

Eryn was sick on Thursday and missed her spring program at school. I was pretty bummed about it, but she didn't seem to mind:)

Spring time

This weekend the kids and I were busy with flowers and putting in the garden. The kids really enjoy being outside and getting dirty:) Along with the warm weather comes skinned knees, elbows, hands, etc. and we also had our fair share of that (at least Eryn did!)

On Sunday the kids got to ride with Chris on the 4-wheeler, and this time, neither of the kids got scared, until they saw Chris trying to do tricks! We also went and rode with Randy in the tractor; he even let the kids "drive!"
