Christmas 2008

As always, Christmas was a fun and tiring time for the kids. On Christmas Eve, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Sabelka's and the kids had a great time with their new toys. Nolan had to take a little cat nap in between but it was well worth it!!

This morning the kids enjoyed opening gifts from Santa. Eryn and Nolan both spent the morning playing with their new toys!!

Today, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Carolan's for the Langreck Christmas. It was fun to see everyone and there was ALOT of food!!

Carolan Christmas

Today was the Carolan Family Christmas part II-- Part I was yesterday at Grandma Carolan's house, but today was my immediate family christmas. As always, the kids got way too many gifts (thanks again to grandma, grandpa, Chris and Lacy and Jeremy Cindy and kids) and had a lot of fun!!! Grandma got each of the kids the same pj's so as you can see we tried to get their picture together! There was some crying, mostly from Nolan (you can get an up close shot of his head wound), but all in all it was a fun day! The gag gifts continued this year.... good luck to Cindy and her favorite cat shirt, and dad's "shocking" new lighter!!:) Can't wait to see what next year brings!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Program

I feel like I am playing catch up since so much has been going on lately and I have had NO time to update the blog!

My Grandmother is in Rochester at St.Mary's recovering from a severe stroke. Luckily, Monday she will be moving back to New Hampton. We are all praying for you Grandma, and the kids can't wait to see you!! We love you lots!!

On Thursday Eryn had her first Christmas program at South Winn. As expected, she wasn't thrilled at standing in front of a group of strangers. We have been through this before so it is nothing new!! Thank goodness for her excellent teacher, Mrs. Z who kept in touch with me throughout the week regarding her progress. And Eryn did make progress. She may have not sang with the group or made eye contact with the audience, but she stood up there by herself:) She is such a shy little girl, and with time things will improve. Nevertheless, we are very proud of our little girl!!

Nolan's first "injury"

Well, Friday was indeed an interesting day. First all of the snow and getting to work. Then about 10:15 I get a call from Lana. "Well, we knew it was going to happen sometime." All the things that go through a mother's mind with this statement!!! Nolan had taken yet another fall, and this time he had the battle wound to prove it. Bless her heart, Lana took Nolan to see Dr. Glawe, and the good news was no stitches!!! Although I am sure those days are not far away:) He sent Nolan home with some steri- strips. He keeps walking around pointing to his head stating "hurts hurts." It's so cute:) Eryn was not a fan of her little brother getting hurt, and the sight of the blood at the inital time of the injury was a little much for her!!

What Christmas is all about...

You just have to love Lana, our daycare provider. She is like another grandma to the kids, and always has lots of projects lined up for the kids. This week, for instance, she dressed them all up like Mary, Joseph, an Angel, and the baby Jesus. It's hard enough to get two kids to cooperate, but she had 4 to handle!! Needless to say the picture turned out well.

Holiday Prep

This week we were busy getting ready for the Christmas season.... well after I had the flu the majority of the week! On Monday we picked out our tree at Klimesh's and put it up. The kids enjoyed putting up all of the ornaments, as most of them are theirs from past years.

The kids also got new Christmas PJ's and couldn't wait to wear them. In addition to their fuzzy slippers, they are cozy on those cold winter nights.

This morning, Eryn helped me do some baking. We made Grandma Carolan's delicious doughnuts, and Eryn has become quite the pro at cutting them out!! We also made some chocolate Oreo truffles, and of course, Eryn and I sampled them!! We also took some time to play outside as it was snowing. We have our fingers crossed that Daddy is out shooting the "big buck!"

Nolan's 2nd Birthday!

NOlan turned 2 on November 28th. What a fun age!! He is beginning to put phrases and sentences together. He is also asking alot of "What's that?" He got a semi for his birthday, among many other things.... here are some pics from his party that was on Saturday. As you can tell, he loves Thomas the Train!!
