Playing "grown up"

Last night I was busy doing some cleaning in the basement to get ready for Nolan's birthday party this week. The kids happened to find enough trinkets in the basement to keep themselves occupied. What I didn't know is that Eryn was getting "married" to Nolan.... oh, to be little again...

Older Sister's Charm...

Sometimes, being the big sister that she is, Eryn really wants someone to play "girl" things with her. Well, if it's not me playing those games with her, it defaults to her little brother. Nolan really likes to play babies, and I think it has a lot to do with Hunter being the only baby (besides my NOlan) at Lana's. Eryn convinced him to put on her pink wings to make it official....

Learning to take pictures

Eryn and Nolan are both intrigued at how the camera works. They really like to "pretend" to take pictures. I let Eryn take a few of me and Nolan, and I have to say she did a pretty good job!!

Goofing Around

Eryn seems to get a silly side to her towards evening. Heck, who am I kidding, at any given point in the day. Since she started preschool, she has become quite the comedian!! Sometimes it is hard for me to get a straight answer out of her!! As you can see in this photo, she has been very creative in uses for her tutu (given to her by Aunt Stacy). I have seen it used as a tablecloth, and as a baby bed, as well as on her head as you can see. I don't recall her actually ever using it as intented, but that is how kids are!

Playing Tractors

Both Eryn and Nolan have really gotten into playing tractors. Daddy brought back some of his machinery from when he was a kid, cleaned it up and handed it down to the kids. For as much as there is to play with, they still seem to fight over the same pieces! Eryn is convinced that there is no better color than red :( while Nolan seems to think that purple is the way to go... don't know where he got that from, but always on the second try he says green. At least I have one on my side!

Great Grandma's Birthday

Today is Great Grandma Langreck's 80th Birthday. We celebrated with a party in Lawler. It was nice to see all of the family and friends of the family. Of course, the best parts of it for the kids were the cake, and the cake, and oh, yeah, some coloring and playing with tractors!

Halloween

This year for Halloween, Eryn was Minnie Mouse, and Nolan was Thomas the Train. They both had a lot of fun in their costumes. Eryn was supposed to dress up on Thursday for school and go to the Ossian Hospice, but she fould it more fun to watch her friends dress up.

Anyway, we made our way around Spillville, then headed to Calmar, and finally to Lawler to round out the evening. On many occasions, Eryn asked if Halloween would be tomorrow too. Apparently, she enjoys going door to door for candy, and dresing up!! Nolan really liked to see what other kids were dressing up as. It was a great evening!
