Fall Fun

Last weekend, the weather was beautiful, and we decided to take advantage of it. Randy was busy in the field, so the kids and I went for a walk down to the park. The kids both enjoy going to either of the parks in town, but especially the Inwood. Eryn has called it "Mommy's Park" for a few years now, and we still aren't sure why!! Needless to say, I am glad we took advantage of the nice weather. I had a hard time getting Nolan to sit still and pose for the camera. There was just too much to do at the park and he didn't want to waste his time posing for Mom!

October 19, 2008

Well, here I was thinking I had no good material for this week to add to the blog! Just goes to show how unpredictable your kids can be! Friday night Eryn and I made cookies for my cousin Lance's benefit held in Lawler yesterday. Eryn is quite the little helper, and enjoys stirring the ingredients, and test tasting the dough!!

This morning, while I was on the phone (and I should have known better cuz it was really quiet)Nolan took it upon himself to play with the soap dispenser in the upstairs bathroom. I later learned that Eryn had closed the door to her room so that he could not play with her. I guess this is was his way of getting back at her (but really at me!!) At least it was a "clean" mess!

As I got him stripped down and cleaned off, him and Eryn thought it would be funny to run around the house without clothes (as you can see we are in potty training mode today) and add the accessories of the crocs and backpack. I know he will love me for this when he is older!

Birthday Party

Tonight we had a Sabelka family get together at our house to celebrate Sam and Doris' birthdays. Complete with cake and Mabe's pizza, it was a great time! The kids all wore their Calmar Fire Dept shirts and posed for some pictures with Grandma and Grandpa.

Dancing Time

Following their bath, the kids thought it was time for some music and dancing (they must be practicing early for uncle Chris' wedding!) Nolan has this dance, where he flaps his arms like a chicken, and it is the funniest thing! Eryn must be watching MTV somewhere, cuz she is up to date with the latest dance moves!!

Bath Time

What a week! I don't know why, but tonight the kids were in rare form. Nolan has been working on his 2 year molars for what seems like forever, and Eryn, well is just Eryn. Since school started she is nothing but a chatter box all night! It is good though, cuz for those of you that know her, she call really be shy! Tonight they were really goofy in the bathtub. Now, most nights I am the one that can't handle both of them in the tub at the same time, but I must have been feeling like Wonder Woman. I had cookies in the oven AND was trying to talk to my brother on the phone. Needless to say, I could not handle all three of those tasks at once (sorry Chris I had to put you on the back burner for a couple of minutes:) While I was giving the kids their bath, Nolan decided to "kick back" in the tub and relax.... Eryn thought she needed to do it too, although she hates getting her hair wet/washed. By the time they were finished, most of the water was out of the bathtub and on mom!

Dance time!

Nolan and Lexie livin' it up on the dance floor!

Nolan and Cousin Brian

Here is Nolan with my cousin Brian

Jesse Carolan's wedding

My cousin Jesse got married yesterday. I wasn't sure how the kids would handle the ceremony, reception and dance. I have to say I was pretty surprised at how well they did.... minus the chocolate mess Nolan got into (thanks to my cousin Jimmy:). They enjoyed hanging with my cousins Elyn and Nash (Eryn informed be before we left that Elyn needed to be invited to her next birthday party), as well as their cousins Keegan and Lexie. As you can see, they got some time on the dance floor!

Bedtime routine

Each night, the kids have their nightly routine. They take baths, get pj's on and settle down in front of the tv to their favorite show (Wow Wow Wubbzy). Don't ask me why, but they like it. And it's better than Spongebob Squarepants! Once they get settled, they then ask fo their bedtime snack, and most nights they ask two or three times! On this particular night, Nolan happened to learn how to take off his pajama top. He must have thought it was a heat wave, cuz he didn't want his shirt on for quite some time!

Nolan's slippers...

With the nights getting colder, it was time to break out the warm PJ's!! Along with that, Nolan happened to find his slippers (Spiderman). Here he is with them on, and I had to grab the camera fast, cuz it wasn't long before he was wanting to take them off. I was wishing I had some in my size!!
